Is improved force feedback and the same funny little collection of gyros and touchscreens carried over from the DualShock 4 really the next-gen difference? I’m not entirely sure, and it may well prove to be another false dawn that, like HD rumble on the Switch, is a pleasant addition that soon fades into the background. However, as you venture through PlayStation’s history, there are special bots for Astro to rescue. These were added just before the launch of Astro Bot, and each section of the game has its special bot to find and collect in preparation for the next game in the Astro Bot world. For a free game that comes with the PlayStation 5, one largely designed just to showcase all the bells and whistles of Sony’s next-gen DualSense controller, Astro’s Playroom is surprisingly fun. It’s not just a great toybox to experience the DualSense’s haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, microphone, and more, it also delivers the best proof-of-concept pack-in I’ve played since Wii Sports. This is a truly joyous homage to PlayStation history, as well as an experimental platformer I can only hope to see turned into a larger experience during the PS5’s lifetime.
It’s a lot of fun to scale up these objects, and each one has a cool animation. Granted, it’s only a startup noise or something getting popped open. You can tell how much love Team Asobi put into this celebration of PlayStation.
Artifact 2/2 “PlayStation Multitap” – At the checkpoint take the left path. Artifact 1/2 “PS One LCD Monitor” – Continue along that path to the end where the group of bots are and pull the wires on the ground to reveal this artifact. Puzzle Piece 1/4 – Once in the main area where you are rolling around as a ball, this puzzle piece is underneath a bridge to the left. Puzzle Piece 2/4 – You will progress through a path of electrified mines to a checkpoint.
Games Review
The game itself effectively utilizes the DualSense controller’s features, resulting in an engaging and innovative gaming experience. Although the game is relatively short, it packs a lot of fun and demonstrates the potential of the PS5 and DualSense in this new generation of gaming. Unlocking the Platinum Trophy in Astro Playroom is an achievable and enjoyable journey‚ taking approximately 5-7 hours. The game is designed to be accessible‚ with no missable trophies‚ allowing a stress-free experience. Completing the story‚ collecting all puzzle pieces‚ artifacts‚ and rescuing special bots are the main requirements.
My favorite of them is GPU Jungle’s full robotic monkey suit, which leads to vertically-scrolling, 2D-view levels. Each of the four worlds in Astro’s Playroom contains at least one Special Bot waiting to be rescued. These bots are often trapped in cages or hidden behind environmental obstacles. Players must carefully explore each area, paying attention to visual cues and environmental hints, to locate the Special Bots and figure out how to free them. These additional trophies add to the overall playtime and enjoyment of Astro’s Playroom, giving players more content to explore and master. Obtaining all the Bronze trophies is not only crucial for unlocking the Platinum but also enhances the overall enjoyment of Astro’s Playroom.
You Need To Re-collect Coins After You Die
Another example is the ball suit in which the player must swipe the touchpad to guide the ball. If Astro Bot falls or gets defeated, the level will restart from the latest checkpoint cleared. Boss Fight Trophies in Astro Playroom are unlocked by defeating specific bosses in various levels. These encounters are scattered across the game’s worlds‚ such as the T-Rex in “Casey’s Toybox” or the final boss in the “Playroom.” Each boss fight is unique and requires mastering Astro’s abilities. Defeating bosses rewards you with puzzle pieces and progresses the story.
This references SCE London Studio’s PlayStation Home, a Second Life-style experience launched in 2008 and closed in 2015. HM88 let you explore themed spaces and allow you to purchase items to display in your virtual home. After jumping up the trigger platforms and tripping a Checkpoint, check the right-hand side for tow Bots hiding from a third with mushrooms on its head. The mushroom Bot refers to a Clicker, a human taken over by parasitic fungi, while the two characters are Joel and Ellie.
Rescuing all the Special Bots not only unlocks the corresponding trophies but also adds them to the CPU Plaza, where they can be admired and interacted with. Gold trophies often require numerous attempts and a willingness to learn from mistakes. By maintaining a positive attitude, embracing the challenge, and refining your skills, you can achieve these prestigious awards and solidify your status as a true Astro’s Playroom master. Puzzle Piece 4/4 – When going down the section where you are blown by two clouds, make sure to stick to the right after the second cloud to get bounced to this puzzle piece.
Once again, working together, you were able to crack the riddle and free her to make it 2 out of 4. Japan Studio gained the confidence to create a richer world for Astro after the success of Astro Bot Rescue Mission for the PlayStation VR in 2018. The positive reception of this demo then paved the way for Astro Bot, which won countless awards and accolades and even secured the title of Game of the Year 2024 amidst the fierce competition.
This version has the Circle, X and Options buttons, while the left-hand controller from before has the Square, Triangle and Create buttons. The follow-up to the original PS VR uses headset-mounted cameras rather than lights, and has a vibration motor. The interior display is four times the resolution of the original, and 3D audio adjusts with your head position. Eye tracking also allows for foveated rendering, where areas you aren’t looking at will not be given priority in order to optimize game performance. Vita Game Packs could also be used on the PlayStation TV, which meant it wasn’t a digital-only platform like the PSP Go was.
Collaboration with other players through online communities can also prove invaluable. Sharing tips, tricks, and strategies can significantly reduce the time and effort required to unlock these trophies. Video guides and walkthroughs can also provide visual aids and step-by-step instructions for particularly challenging tasks. Detailed descriptions for each Bronze trophy are essential for efficient trophy hunting. These descriptions outline the exact requirements for unlocking each trophy, providing clear instructions on what actions to perform and where to find specific items or locations.
Puzzle Piece 3/4 – After another couple of checkpoints, you’ll reach a series of second colored rooms. In the red room with the spinning mines, you can find this puzzle piece rotating along between two of them. Puzzle Piece 4/4 – On the main path just after the checkpoint there will be an explosive enemy standing in the middle of the area. Jump and hold over top of it to ignite it, and when it explodes it reveals this puzzle piece underneath.
Artifact 2/3 “PocketStation” – To the left of that middle bumper is one more dangerous path, with this artifact at the end. Artifact 1/3 “DualShock Controller” – Before going off the ice there is a dangerous path on the left. Artifact 1/3 “Playstation 2” – As you progress upwards you will go by two cannons with an electrified mine moving back and forth just above them. To the right of the mine is a hole in the wall you can go into, then progress through the obstacles to find this artifact at the end. This Astro’s Playroom Collectible Guide lists everything in chronological order (all Artefacts and Puzzle Pieces in one playthrough).
